"The Invisibles is a comic book series that was published by the Vertigo imprint of DC Comics from 1994 to 2000. It was created and scripted by Scottish writer Grant Morrison, and drawn by various artists throughout its publication.^[1]
The plot follows (more or less) a single cell of The Invisible College, a secret organization battling against physical and psychic oppression using time travel, magic, meditation, and physical violence.^[2]
For most of the series, the team includes leader King Mob; Lord Fanny, a Brazilian shaman; Boy, a former member of the NYPD; Ragged Robin, a telepath with a mysterious past; and Jack Frost, a young hooligan from Liverpool who may be the next Buddha. Their enemies are the Archons of Outer Church, interdimensional alien gods who have already enslaved most of the human race without their knowledge."

Buckminster Fuller - Everything I know

This dude might blow your mind... A genius philosopher, engineer and inventor; Bucky Fuller sought to understand and teach as much as possible. In 1975 Bucky gave a lecture that lasted 42 hours. It was Called "Everything I know". In this lecture he discusses the origins of life on earth, geometry, religion, power and ultimately human evolution. It's a fascinating listen to be sure. At any rate, listen to the first one or two volumes at least. You will not be sorry. The videos of the first half of the lecture are embedded below and there are links to all of them on open culture as well as a link to the Buckminster Fuller Institute where you can get more information and transcripts of these talks and others. enjoy.

John Taylor Gatto on Education/Schooling/Control/Self Determination

I don't remember how I found out about John Taylor Gatto, but after initially seeing this series of videos I've ended up watching them all a few times over. There's an introduction to who the man is in the first 17 minutes of the first video; after that it's a long interview/lecture about the history of the school system, the founding of our society as we know it and a few strategies to break oneself or at least one's children out of this cycle of premeditated, conditioned self destruction. Heavy shit, yes- but worth listening to and understanding. enjoy.

My basic life's religion is a mix of things I got from punk, acid, burroughs, tolkien, norse mythology and total basement hesher satanic death worship... and of all the manners of occult business I've looked into over the years in some kindof quest for context and power this magic is what makes the most sense to me... and it really is magic, dude. it turns the void in on itself, like a big mirror on the power structure... a spell against control and cosmic oppression... a celebration of not being beaten yet, you fuckers... we're on to you... William Burroughs had a way of venomously illustrating the worst and most destructive aspects of human nature and the dangers and excesses of control; both as a concept and as the reality and context we presently exist in. He was also really fucking funny. dude was way ahead of his time, which just becomes more and more evident as you delve further into his work... he was and is doing the good work for our species as a whole. of this I am sure. Anyway, I give this stuff a lot of lip service, and I do spend a good deal of my time listening to these recordings, so I figured it might be cool to share it with my friends or people who might not hear it through the floor late at night at 134 or hear me quoting from it all of the time for seemingly no good reason... For this, I've comprised a mix of some of my favorite bits of Burroughs' spoken voice. There's a lot from place of dead roads and the western lands, a few cut ups, some random stuff and a few nova express era spells and curses... there are a ton of great interviews and other pieces that are way longer and not so easily cut and put into a mixtape, but maybe I'll start in on those at some point... I dunno... I figured this would be a good starter at least, and while certainly not for everyone, I've gotten a lot out of it and I feel a kindof responsibility to pass it on in hope that you might gain from it or do something valuable with it as well.

Two Quintessentially English Gentlemen...

long time, eh?
anyway- as I'm usually trolling about the internet looking for lectures and documentaries when not researching music and nerding out on gear I tend to watch a lot of videos... Here are a few more interesting ones for you...

The first is the documentary about Lemmy Kilmister that came out a few years ago. I had totally forgotten about it until the other day and thought that it must be on the internet somewhere... well, friends... here it is...



A rough constitution to be sure... The dude has seen it all and done it all and continues to fucking rage it because there's nothing else to do, right? fuck it... I don't think there's any bullshit with this dude whatsoever... I bet he would have gotten along quite well with Bon Scott... If you like this you should totally read his autobiography. It's fucking ace... Anyhow, a true english genleman...

After watching this I remembered that someone made a documentary about Billy Childish a few years ago and though I couldn't find that I did find these interviews he did at the ICA in london. I think a lot of similarities can be drawn between these two. what do you think? Interesting people leading interesting liiiiiiiivvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssssss, yes? If only you were so lucky... ; )
